My first week as a Vivero Fellow answered many of my questions about the job. This week, I began to learn the skills I need to be an effective fellow. However, I am most excited about beginning work on the Native History Project.
I was pleasantly surprised with the clear, detailed instructions for my first week of training. The training schedule made learning cPanel and WordPress intuitive. I found both easy to navigate. I am confident that I will be able to help people learn how to use WordPress to create a site. I found WordPress’s themes interesting. I did not know about the range of themes WordPress offers for many types of websites. One thing I found frustrating, though, was that I am struggling to see my site as a viewer would see it. I’m curious what it looks like and how easy it is to navigate.
In the future, I would like to explore ways to customize my site’s appearance. I know there’s a lot more for me to learn about how to use media on WordPress.
